Safeguarding

Safety is the foundation of our work.

Gateway maintains clear arrangements to safeguard children, respond to concerns and work effectively with commissioners and partner agencies.

Designated leadership

Rhizlane Gesir is Gateway’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCO. Safeguarding concerns are acted upon promptly and escalated through the appropriate local procedures.

Safer practice

Our arrangements include safer recruitment, appropriate DBS checks, staff training, visitor control, attendance monitoring and procedures for allegations and low-level concerns.

Attendance

Attendance is recorded for every session. Unexplained absence or non-arrival is reported promptly under the placement agreement.

Partnership

We work with home schools, local authorities, families, children’s social care, health professionals and other relevant agencies.
